HIS 307 - America from War to Watergate, 1945-1974 Credits: 3 This course examines the history of the United States following World War II through the mid-1970s. Topics include the origins and evolution of the Cold War, and its impact on America’s role in international affairs; the influence of the Cold War on American society and politics; the creation and consequences of economic affluence in postwar society; the revolution in race and ethnic relations; changes in the role of women and gender relations; the nationalization of American culture; the shift from liberalism to conservartism.
Prerequisite(s): HIS 105 or HON 122 and sophomore standing or permission of instructor.
