BIO 442 - Aquatic Ecology Credits: 3 Examines the ecology of inland aquatic habitats including streams, springs, lakes, wetlands and estuaries. Lectures explore the physical, chemical, and biological forces shaping aquatic systems, with an emphasis on the ecology and conservation of freshwater organisms and habitats. Field and laboratory work includes sampling techniques, characterization of aquatic habitats, and identification of aquatic organisms. Graduate students enrolled in this class will be required to complete additional course requirements. Two hours lecture and three hours lab/week. (Offered fall semester, even years)
Prerequisite(s): BIO 162 or Graduate standing. BIO 242 and one year of chemistry strongly recommended.
