AJJ 501 - Seminar in Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Credits: 3 Studies the social construction of juvenile delinquency and historical development of justice practices; including the diversity of delinquents and status offenders from early to modern times. Students survey contemporary juvenile justice issues, ranging from applied and evidence-based practice, ethical and data-driven decision-making, to victim impact and restorative justice practices, risk and case management tools, and juvenile correctional policy, sentencing, diversion and treatment.
Prerequisite(s): Restricted to students in the Administration of Juvenile Justice program. Departmental permission is needed for students who are not enrolled in this program.
