AJJ 524 - Anatomy of Violence Credits: 3 Examine the nature of violent and sexual victimization. The focus on juvenile violence will cover various perspectives, including those of victims, offenders, and individuals close to victims/offenders. Students will explore concepts and theories that attempt to explain the causes and effects of violent youthful behavior. The goal of this course is to not only teach students about the types and frequency of violent behaviors, but also to encourage them to seek an answer to the question “why do human beings commit violence?”
Prerequisite(s): Restricted to students in the Administration of Juvenile Justice program. Departmental permission is needed for students who are not enrolled in this program.
