COUN 514 - Relapse Prevention and Opiate Treatment Methods Credits: 3 Students are provided with the concept and process of relapse prevention and recovery from addiction. Specific focus is on opiate treatment and the use of medication and a variety of other therapeutic modalities and approaches. A developmental perspective is presented along with a variety of support group philosophies and perspectives; from cognitive to spiritualty. Clinical approaches will aid counselors in their work in relapse prevention and clients addicted to opiates.
Prerequisite(s): Master’s degree in counseling or related degree.
