SOCI 565 - Leading DEI Organizations Credits: 3 This course is an introduction to the logic and practice of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in organizations, covering the basic concerns, concepts, theories, laws, and practices. Students will explore the development of the field of DEI, the laws governing DEI, and models based on compliance versus effective DEI integrated into the organizational mission and vision. The course will cover best practices in relation to a variety of populations under the DEI umbrella. Students will learn to build a DEI strategic plan, and explore ways to assess it and work towards long-term, positive organizational change.
