HIST 350 - History of Modern Japan Credits: 3 Deals with the evolution of traditional Japanese social, economic, and political institutions. Impact of rapid modernization on these institutions and the transformation of Japan into a world power will be the major themes of this course. Japan’s re-emergence as an economic and political force in Asia since World War II examined.
Prerequisite(s): HIST 105 or HONR 122 and sophomore standing, or permission of instructor.
