HIST 362 - Europe 1450-1715: The Era of the Renaissance and Reformation Credits: 3 Europe in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries developed many features that we recognize as modern: large standing armies, prime ministers and governments who had to command a majority in parliament, religious pluralism, central banks and stock exchanges, and a culture of scientific experiment. This course tries to explain the causes of these major changes using primary and secondary sources.
Prerequisite(s): HIST 105 or HONR 122 and sophomore standing, or permission of instructor.
