PRST 400 - Professional Studies Internship Credits: 1-12

This course is a guided professional practicum involving an internship suitable for the student’s courses and professional plans as indicated by the student’s program of study in the Professional Studies B.S. for either the Professional Leadership Studies or Integrative Studies concentration.  It is the first of two professionalization courses in the major and should be completed before the required capstone course. Students will locate and apply for an internship, complete various academic tasks in addition to their workplace requirements, and begin to create artifacts that can be placed in a required e-portfolio.

Prerequisite(s): As for all internships, at least 60 credits and 2.0 GPA. It is intended to be a “pre-capstone” so ideally the internship comes early in the last year of study or the end of the student’s junior year. However, there is no course that must be taken before the internship.
Graduate Credit: This course is not available for graduate credit.
