GEO 533 - Science of Land Use Change Credits: 3 Land use and land cover change can have dramatic social and ecological consequences. This seminar course will focus on understanding and recognizing drivers of land use and land cover change and on recognizing linkages between land use and land cover change and other ecosystem processes, such as hydrologic processes and habitat fragmentation. The course will also focus on methods for analyzing land use and land cover changes, landscape patterns, and will incorporate geographic information systems and modeling.
