Clinical Year
OR Clinical Year option (3+1): If a student in this major receives early acceptance into an approved health professional program, up to 30 credits may be tranferred back from the clinical program to substitute for 30 credits of Health Science-Related Selectives/ Free electives. Prerequisites for professional programs must be met. Any student earning a Shippensburg University degree must complete at least 90 credits prior to entering professional program. General Education Program (45 crs.) - Due to some 4 credit directed gen eds, Health Science majors must take 47 credits of gen ed coursework.
General Education Requirements Specific for this major: Free Electives (17-19 crs.)
17-19 credits depending on which math and health science selectives courses are chosen. Consider classes that might be required for health professional programs when selecting your Free Electives. A minimum of 120 credits is required for graduation. Advising Notes:
- Students should take BIOL161 and begin their math sequence in their 1st year.
- For students with a math level 5 or higher, chemistry courses could be taken in their first year.
- Students lacking strong chemistry/math backgrounds could consider taking CHEM 105 before CHEM 121.
- Physics is normally taken in the junior year.
