ECO 377 - Sports Economics Credits: 3 Tools of economic analysis are used to study the sports industry. Topics of discussion include monopoly, monopsony, pricing strategies, profitability, role of unions, discrimination, salary determination, and college athletics. The course is divided into three main sections: 1) the market structure of sports, 2) the financing of professional sports, and 3) the labor markets of professional and amateur sports.
Prerequisite(s): ECO 101 or ECO 102 or ECO 113 or HON 165 or HON 166
