HIS 318 - History of U.S. Women Credits: 3 Focuses upon historical factors that shaped the lives of American women in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. Changing standards of behavior, expectations of marriage and family, and options of work outside the home will be explored, as well as women’s demands for equality in education, careers, and citizenship. Women’s differing experiences based on race, ethnicity, religion, region, social class, and age will be discussed.
Prerequisite(s): (HIS 105 or HON 122 ) and (HIS 106 or HON 123 ) or permission of instructor
