SCM 355 - Managing Quality and Continuous Improvement Credits: 3 Covers the basic concepts of managing quality in either a manufacturing or a service environment. The role of quality to enhance productivity and maintain a competitive position is the central focus. Principles and methodology needed to design systems that assure quality from both customer and manufacturer perspectives discussed. Managerial and technical skills and tools provide a comprehensive approach to the implementation and maintenance of quality systems. Principles of continuous improvement and their impact on quality management explored.
